:- 4.0 out of 5 stars from Carol Hand -- Realistic and scary : A thriller centered around an evil (but realistic) scenario in which drug development is done purely for profit and patients come in a very distant second. The author obviously understands the pharmaceutical industry and its relationship to government agencies and politics—in short, the story feels believable. The good guys are really good, and the bad guys are … probably based on real life! Although the book understandably concentrates on the “thriller” aspects of the story, I was a bit disappointed that some characters were not developed more fully. The first part of the book is slowed down by description and explanation but the last half to two-thirds is all action. A good read. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 8, 2021 )
